Safari Stamps by Olivia Rose!

Hi, I’m Olivia Rose, one of the designers for Sizzix, and today I’m excited to share with you my Floral Safari Stamp and Framelits set (666011)!

I’ve always wanted to go on safari, so I’m living vicariously through these dies and stamps!

Combining my enthusiasm for both wild animals and wildflowers, I wanted to create a design which was delicate yet impactful!

The lion was the very first drawing I did. The mane lends itself so perfectly to playing with florals and foliage! After that, the stripes on the zebra and the curve of the elephant's ear were fun creative choices!

I've seen a big safari theme in party décor for children’s birthdays and baby showers, so I was inspired to keep the animal shapes quite playful. My favourite details are the swirls on the elephant’s back and the jauntiness of the Zebra!

As a designer, stamps are wonderful to create because you can retain so much of that hand-drawn quality. My leaves and stems hardly changed from sketchbook to finished product!

To make sure that none of the detail is lost, I recommend stamping the design first. Then position the relevant Framelit on top, before passing through your Sizzix Die-cutting machine. Try using our Sizzix Makers’ Tape (663473) to hold your dies in place as they go through.

These are perfect Framelits and stamps for cardmaking, scrapbooking or creating unique framed pieces to decorate your home! The extra foliage dies and ‘Wild and Free’ sentiment offer even more opportunities to add some safari style to your makes!

I’d love to see this set being used for a wide range of occasions; the zebra could even be made into a horse for equine party invitations!
