Top Tips for Organising Your Sizzix Dies...

Let's talk about tips for organizing your Sizzix Dies! When it comes to my craft space I like everything to be tidy and organized, but I know a few hours after crafting that is easier said then done! My tidy space can become a big mess very quickly...

With that being said I have found that one way to keep my work space organized whilst I am crafting is by having a system in place for organizing my dies so, even when I am making a mess, it is easy for everything to be put back into place during or after I am done.

Here are my top tips for keeping your crafting spaces and Die collection organized!

Top Tips...

Split your Dies into categories...

You can categorize your Dies anyway that you like. At Sizzix we work in Chapters so I tend to organize mine by Chapters as we often work with one Chapter at a time, but for you guys at home it may make more sense to categorize by occasion or design.

For example, try having all of your Dies categorized into Festive Dies, Easter Dies, Floral Dies and Alphabet Dies. However you decide to do it just make sure you do what works best for you and your daily crafting!

Label and store each category...

Once you have your Die collection spilt up into your categories make sure you store and label them so you know where and what each one is. This could be done by using something that is as simple storage boxes, but I recommend using the Sizzix Die Storage as they are super convenient and compact.

You can separate each Die set into the Envelopes in the folder and label each envelope with the Die name and each folder with the category name.

The folders are so easy to just stack up side my side on a shelf and can store so many dies in a stylish way without taking up lots of room in your craft space.

Use Magnetic Sheets...

To stop Dies moving around in the Envelopes or going missing use the Sizzix Magnetic Sheets. Your dies will easily stick to these and it will hopefully prevent you from scrambling around on the floor looking for your missing Dies. Have an area for loose or spare Dies...

Have a small area or box for collecting spare or loose dies that haven't been put away into their correct folders so that you don't lose them and then you can organize them at a later date when you have the time!

Keep a fresh Die Cutting collection...

By this I don't meant throw out Dies from last year's collection just because they are a year or two old, of course not! These may be some of your favorites that you use all the time!

What I simply mean is don't be a hoarder, especially if you have limited space in your crafting area. If you find you have dies that you no longer use or suit your style of making anymore donate them or give them to a friend who might make more use of them; that way you can make more room for your loved and well used dies... or even make room for some new fun purchases!
