I’ve had an interest in being creative as far back as I can remember, my childhood is filled with memories of making and creating. I decided to follow this creative passion professionally and attended Otis College of Art and Design where the wealth of experience and knowledge I learned still influences my style today, a strong combination of both traditional drawing skills and digital technique.

I have never known a time where I haven’t been creative from making dolls clothes as a child to completing an Illustration degree which led me to a career illustrating children’s books and completing commissions for various UK magazines and greeting card companies before joining Ellison as a Creative Designer. I have enjoyed several roles within the business including die designs which I still support on occasion.

I have always been passionate about drawing and crafting and love combining hand drawn illustrations with patterns and lettering. I am Welsh and I grew up on a farm in North Wales, and I am inspired by nature and when I’m not drawing I love exploring the Welsh countryside and hiking. I really enjoy working in the craft industry, especially seeing my designs transformed into products and seeing them being used, and keeping in touch with the crafting community.

Creating organic forms and textural patterns are my favourite shapes to design. With a background in textiles, I love to experiment in different drawing techniques to translate into my work. As a product designer I love the breadth of technologies I get to design for and seeing my designs come to life is really rewarding. I am inspired by new trends and contemporary classics and on my creative platform it allows me to showcase my style.

I studied Product Design at the University of Central Lancashire. My professional background was designing Playground Equipment for Schools and Councils across the UK before I found my current role at Sizzix. My natural style is contemporary and minimalistic but I utilise my research and design skills to create for all our consumers, their styles and tastes considering on trend motifs. I enjoy working with dimension, creating our 3D and Multi-Level Embossing Folders.

My constant companions from an early age were a sketchbook and pencil, so when it came to choose a career, art school was the only destination. I trained as an illustrator specialising in cartoons and caricatures and I worked freelance for a few years before taking a position with an educational publishers who became distributors for Ellison Educational die-cutting equipment. Ellison asked the company if we would like to distribute their new brand of craft products called Sizzix and the rest, as they say, is history. In my day-to-day role as a designer, I get to play with all of our wonderful products and create a few projects along the way.

I have lots of fun creating inspirational projects with Sizzix products which are showcased within videos, blog posts, photoshoots, tradeshows, and TV demonstrations. I take a lot of inspiration from nature and my love for travel, often using that inspiration in my projects and designs. I love to create large, realistic floral displays that really catch people’s attention or documenting my travels within colourful scrapbook pages. Sharing new techniques and ideas with everyone is true passion of mine and I love that I get to be a part of the ever-growing crafty community, that Sizzix is such a key part of, every single day!

When I was young I was always so excited to go with my mom to the stationery and card store! That must’ve been a sign! My first job out of college was in the papercrafting industry and I’ve been in it ever since! Being on the creative design team at Sizzix, I spend my days doing what I love…creating things that are bright, colorful and full of whimsy. To bring joy to someone through the mail or hand-delivered and handmade…what could be better?!
Alexis Trimble
I started papercrafting when I was 12 years old, and absolutely loved exploring my creativity! I even spent most of my college years working at a local, independent scrapbook store and loved it. I enjoyed working in casting for the television industry, but the art world called, and I soon returned to my first love…papercrafting! I love being able to support the creative community through tutorial videos and imagery. When I’m not papercrafting you’ll find me reading, writing, learning how to paint, and exploring the world on my traveling adventures.
